LED street lighting manufacturers set about street lights replacement plan in Old Saybrook

   Despite this cold winter and snowy weather, the work on LED street light conversion start is continuing as plan. This work is enforced by one of LED street lighting manufacturers to switch to LED street lamps in place of traditional sodium-vapor lamps covering each town’s 1,080 streetlights installation.

   Works from LED street lighting manufacturers began this replacement plan on January 15th and it will cost about three or four week to finish, depending on the weather situation.

   Last year a plan is authorized by local municipal bureau to kick off a street lighting upgrading plan which costs no more than $585,000 on 1080 street lights. These LED street lights will connect to the utility-owned poles and LED Street lighting manufacturers will be responsible for the maintenance. The town will now own and be responsible for maintenance of these poles, and the arm and light fixture attached to them.

   The return on investment for this city will be about 3 to 4 years. And the LED street lights are higher energy-efficient than traditional sodium-vapor lamps. After finishing all LED street lights installation plan, the system also will use much less electricity than before and the energy saving for this city will be about $100,000 per year, reducing the town’s annual energy use and its costs.

   This move is part of global LED conversion trend and it is estimated that there are more and more project installed with LED lamps under the support of LED street lighting manufacturers.
