Ludhiana cooperating with LED street light suppliers to turn to LED lighting system

An announcement by Ludhiana is issued to cooperate with LED street light suppliers to ramp up the proportion of LED street lighting products which is much-awaited for local civilians. After trial was done over four sites in the city, this detailed replacement plan was on the way. This plan will take nine-month time to replace over 100,000 ordinary street lights in the city.

This choice to cooperate with LED street light suppliers helps local authority to cut electricity bills and maintenance costs over Rs 60 million per year. The total investment cost of this project is Rs 443.8 million. This plan is one of the moves of smart city mission. A spokesperson claimed that they will only upgrade around 107 thousand street lights with LED ones.

According to the previous trial in four sites to check the efficiency and difference between ordinary and LED lights, the luminous effect satisfies local authority. New LED street lights features more brightness and less energy consumption compared to products previously.

After these LED street lights served by LED street light suppliers being installed, traffic lighting conditions will have a clear change that traffic users will have a better horizon over traffic movements. By then, traffic accidents and crime will be reduced accordingly.
