Andhra Pradesh to upgrade 30 lakh LED street lights across the state
Andhra Pradesh in India has mounted approximately 9.19 lakh LED street lights in the urban area and rural areas. And according to a recent plan, this state will create a world record by installing a total 30 lakh LED street lights.
With the advent of Ugadi Festival, Chief Minster announced to install another 15 lakh street lights (out of a total target of 30 lakh) to the rural areas in an effort to enable Andhra Pradesh one of the best energy-efficient States.
According to this announcement, this will-be-finished plan would dramatically renew the appearance of the villages and deliver a brighter and better lighting effect, and promoting the safety and security among the residents. Also, large amounts of energy and electricity bills will be cutting. After this plan finished, net financial benefit the LED street lights delivered will be around 500 crore and energy-saving 333MU in the next 10 years.
The new white LED street lamps instead of traditional orange lamps will deliver higher efficacy as a superior way to save money on energy and repairs bills to local authority. Traditional high pressure sodium lamp runs on high voltage while light off when it’s low. LED street light is free from this situation. And it features long life up to 30,000 hours, ten times than traditional HPS light and save electricity more than 70%, along with low maintenance costs.
