New LED streetlight scheme supported by LED street lighting manufacturers approved for Lancashire
A recent scheme to replace 38,000 streetlights with high-end, higher energy-efficient and darn-good LEDs served by LED street lighting manufacturers has been approved by Lancashire County Council’s cabinet.
This project values amounting to £9.2m will plan to begin in April 2018 and be wrapped up in November 2020. The finial plan is to replace all of the county’s older, less efficient streetlights with cutting-edge and energy-efficient LEDs served by LED street lighting manufacturers. It follows a three-year scheme which has already seen 87,000 traditional streetlights replaced with LEDs.
Different from traditional high pressure sodium lamp containing a great deal mercury vapor, which will release to the environment if broken, LED lights are free from the previous substance. It is environment-friendly and green. And all LEDs transfer all electricity into optical energy along with less heat, which cut the energy waste and extend longer life span. High color rendering ensure more authentic color performance.
A spokesperson reveals that by upgrading more energy-efficient and long-life LED street lights with LEDs, approximately £1.8m every year will be saved after the project being completed. All of the county’s streets will be lit by LEDs by November 2020.
This move is in the spotlight as the key part of the plan to promote energy efficiency, cut energy bills and to protect our environment better.
