USA solid state lighting plan instead of LED street lamps
Similar efficacy of warm white LED street lamps to cold white LED street lamps can be estimated to achieve, according to Department of Energy (DOE).
DOE has issued its solid solar lighting (SSL) development plan including two documents: 2017 recommended research subject and 2017 recommended research subject copy. The former briefly defines SSL application area while the later covers DOE research and outlook on efficacy and energy conservation.
2017 recommended research subject copy estimates how much SSL will save energy according to present development of SSL. DOE indicated that over 42 quads energy will be saved during the time from 2015 to 2035 by means of LED transformation. One quad is equal to 293 terawatt-hours or one quadrillion btus. Additionally, 62 TWhrs conservation can be impossible if SSL can meet DOE object. (PS: 20 quads can generate one-year electricity for 90% families.

However, the information for OLED industry is not that exciting. OLED industry fails to be up to 100lm/W. New plan calls for making more improvement in system and luminaire. It is estimated that by 2020 luminaire will mount to 200lm/W in system level. Additionally, this report also calls for new novel and different shape. The key goal asks for higher efficacy and longer life for LED driver or power supply. In the future the LED industry will turn to a new completion.
