ADA plans to replace traditional streetlights with LED street lights

A recent plan by Agra Development Authority (ADA) points out new-type and energy efficient LED street lights will be installed in main road ─MG road in Agra of India. Local government chooses to cooperate with LED street lighting manufacturers to finish this project, which will be start from April. It is expected that a huge amount of electricity bills will be cut after completing this project. Also, traffic will be brighter than before and suspicious activity and crime in the dark will be slashed.
Actually in last year local government came in talk with LED street lighting manufacturers to install LED street lights in urban areas. Locally there are around 12,000 street light points in the city, most of which are traditional high pressure sodium lamps. And every year huge amounts of needless electricity bills are wasted off. After replacement new energy efficient LED street lights will axe the annual power bill from 9 crore to 5 crore rupees.
