Grants cooperating with LED street lighting manufacturers to switch to LED bulbs

   Recently, local government in Grants kicked off a plan in cooperation with LED street lighting manufacturers to convert conventional street lights to higher energy efficient LED street lights. If it comes true, a lot of electricity bills will be cut for local authority. And superior glow will deliver higher safety for residents and traffic.

   The detailed number of this plan is around 2,300 high pressure sodium lights, which will switch to LED street lights. This is a part of an energy saving initiative in the city. Local public works director said, this project in cooperation with LED street lighting manufacturers will put into use to help them save citizens money because of longer life span.

   The project will cost around $530,000 which is fully funded by national energy conservation program. The new LED bulbs are expected to save the city $530,000 in energy costs and another $15,000 on maintenance costs annually. The CRI of these lamps will be about 3000K, which is a bit less than some streetlights outside of the city that have been switched to LED bulbs.

   Compared to traditional high pressure sodium light, the new LED street lights served by LED street lighting manufacturers are more higher efficient and shorter-lasting. The plan to convert to LED street lights can help cut lighting bills by as much as 60 percent and enable the investment back within few years.

   The new white LED street lamps from LED street lighting manufacturers will deliver higher efficacy as a superior way to save money on energy and maintenance bills to local authority.
