LED Street lamps to install on Phoenix by 2019

  The LED street lamps replacement plan will be on the to-do-lists in all of Phoenix city by 2019 ─swapping out yellow colored high-sodium street light bulbs with new, brighter LED street lamps, according to the local government, which including approximately 100,000 non-LED street lights. This plan will be finished in cooperation with global well-known LED street lights manufacturers.

  The current existing traditional street lights mean a great many electricity bills to local authority. Furthermore, the maintenance cost takes up greatly in street lights cost.

  A small fraction of street lights have been converted in the downtown area to LED street lamps. And great effect was popular with local residents, so the big plan of nearly 100,000 will be on the way neighborhood by neighborhood.

  Monica Hernandez, spokeswoman for Phoenix’s Street Transportation Department, said workers will try to keep disruptions to a minimum. “In the neighborhood [areas], we will be working during the day,” she said. Light replacement on major roadways will happen at night “to avoid some of the heavier traffic volumes.” She said.

  The new white LED street lamps instead of traditional orange lamps will deliver higher efficacy as a superior way to save money on energy and repairs bills to local authority. And it is estimated that it will save more than $22 million through the year 2030.
