Spain's Guadalajara connects 12,000 Philips LED street lights to Internet
Since concept of the smart city has been introduced to the world, some products related with this field have attracted the attention of the people across the globe, such as smart street light, smart covers and smart road monitoring, whatever. The key feature of these products is connecting with internet, providing easier and more efficient management for the people. In the last couple of days, Spain's Guadalajara announced that they have installed 12,000 Philips LED street lights and connected them to Philips’ CityTouch management software to allow remote monitoring and management of Lights and of related electrical cabinet via Internet.
CityTouch is a lighting management system for public lighting. It offers simple web applications to analyze, plan and maintain workflow management, whilst you can monitor, manage and measure your connected lighting through the applications.
“The CityTouch connect app provides a high level of flexibility to meet the different lighting needs in our city at any time.” said Radoslaw Tumielewicz, director of Roads and Transport Authority, Szczecin, Poland
Such smart city system could provide information on traffic, parking, noise, air quality, crime, road surface status, etc. All of this extremely improve the management convenience for governors. However, it is also in the early stages of the smart light.
